The Art of Food Preservation

In 2016 we enjoyed helping our friends learn our ways of canning and in return they show us what they knew. Its hard to tell what the boys will have up their sleeves this year....but I hear it has to do with dandelions and wine!

Our kitchen hands down is where we spend the most time in our house. Brad and I love being in the kitchen cooking and baking, as well as entertaining family and friends.

Most of the time we use the produce from our garden to preserve food for the winter. During the summer months its just as convenient to walk out to the garden and grab everything we need to make for supper. Let's face it though, even with having all the produce we could want readily available, a freezer full of meat, and shelves stocked of our canned goods, we still struggle with knowing what to make for supper each night!

That's why we are dedicating the Blog below to have recipes and other food preserving tips. While there are plenty of other things we are still learning (thank goodness for YouTube) we are happy to share what we do know with others and hope to set up some canning workshops this summer. There will be more info to follow but if you would be interested in a canning workshop please let us know!

Jill is also huge cookbook and recipe collector so if you have any favorites please share! You never know we may even just make our own cookbook one day!
